What's on in April 2016

APRIL is here, and with it comes the fabulous MWPF.

Emma is delighted to be performing at Much Wenlock Poetry Festival this year.

On Saturday April 23rd she will be appearing at 12 noon with  'The Nailmakers' Daughters', who will be reading from the collection of the same name published by Offa's Press.  Emma, Marion Cockin and Iris Rhodes will be reading poetry rooted in the Black Country.

At 4 o'clock Emma will be doing a set as part of the Poetry Busk with Liz Lefroy.

Then on Saturday April 24th Emma will be launching her new collection of children's poetry at the festival.  The book is beautifully illustrated with the weird and whacky work of Catherine Pascall Moore.  Come along to this free event in the Children's Marque at 3.00pm.  The young and young at heart will all be welcome.

March News

What's happening in March?

Emma is very, very busy putting the finishing touches to a collection of her children's poetry.  'I Once Knew a Poem Who Wore a Hat.' will be out with Fair Acre Press this April.  There will be fantastic illustrations too!  Catherine Pascall Moore has been drawing fabulous creations to go with Emma's poems.  Their publisher Nadia is rumoured to be very pleased with the way the book is shaping up ;)
Only one performance open to the public this month and that's...

At Central Library, Snow Hill in Wolverhampton on March 30th.  Jane Seabourne, Brenda Read-Brown and Emma Purshouse are going to be reading at 5.30pm - 6.30pm.  This is a Poetry on Loan event and it's FREE!

What's going on in January and February 2016

Emma will be at Tipton Library on January 28th between 10.30 and 12.00 noon.  She will be talking about working as a free-lance writer and performing some of her poems.  This event is a 'Tipton Library Coffee Morning'.  It's FREE admission but tickets need to be booked in advance by phoning 0121 557 1796.

4th Feb sees Emma as the featured artist for 'Permission to Speak' which runs at Scary Canary, 108a High Street, Stourbridge DY8  1EE.  It's a 7pm kick off and FREE entry. http://www.scarycanaryvenue.com/

6th February at Dudley Library there will be a pop up poetry event, so why not pop in and meet poets Emma Purshouse and Michael Thomas.  Emma and Mike will be creating personalised poems for library vistors.  Come along and get yours written in time for Valentine’s Day.

9th February is City Voices at the Lych Gate Tavern by St Peter's Church in the Centre of Wolverhammpton.  It's a 7.30 start and it's £3 to get in.  It's a lovely venue with five readers/performers taking part. Come along and have a listen.  This month includes sets from Emma Purshouse and Hazel Rogers (the current Young Poet Laureate of Shropshire).
